2025 Mecatecno DragonFly unveiled

 The Barcelona firm headed by Jordi Mila unveiled the 2025 Mecatecno DragonFly at this weekends Costa Brava Trial in Spain.

First thing that jumps at you is the super classy new graphics, leaning to a deep red and black scheme, with just a hint of the lime green. 

Techically there is a swage of improvement on this the lightest trials bike ever produced. The New U-Mapp Bluetooth connectivity offers owners a deep dive into configuring their bikes.

The new 2025 model has 3 handlebar switchable Maps, but each Map has 11 configuarable parameters within each Map selection.

Including adjustable "tickover", so an idle speed can be chosen by the pilot. ON/OFF or variable speed if on selected.

Regenerative engine braking: This engine braking can be set differently in all three maps, so that you can choose a map for trail or section riding in which each time you release the gas, the engine recharges the battery, also allowing less use of the brakes. 

New Large Capacity 4.0 Battery. Formerly only available as an X-Part. This battery offers 2.4kw of power.

Other adjustments include

Throttle Dead Zone - controls the amount of Free Play of throttle movement.

Throttle  Stroke - Length of throttle stroke to be regulated.

Power Curve - Defines the power curve resulting from Throttle stroke.

Inertia - Adjusts the electronic inertia function both when giving throttle and releasing it.

Other changes include:

Reinforced Chassis Braces for increases stiffness and strength.

New reinforced Swingarm.

New Footpeg hangers in 7075 Aluminium.

New forged rear brake lever.

Better positioning of rear brake master cylinder.
